I. Export of Agricultural Products,Â
1. General export situationÂ
In 2022, the global trade in goods in general and the trade market of agricultural and fishery products in particular are expected to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic but still face many difficulties due to the impacts of geo-political fluctuations or inflation. However, with timely support policies from the Government and solutions to open markets and goods circulation, the promotion of production and export of agricultural and fishery products in 2022 has achieved positive results.Â
1.1. Overview of commodities According to statistics of the General Department of Customs.
In 2022, the export turnover of the main agricultural and fishery products reached 30.8 billion USD, up 9.9% compared to 2021 and accounting for about 8.3% of the total export turnover of the country. In general, export growth of agricultural and fishery products in 2022 is quite positive with 7/9 items recording growth compared to the previous year. In which: seafood reached 10.92 billion USD, up 23%; coffee reached 1.78 million tons, turnover reached more than 4 billion USD, up 13.8% in volume and 32% in value; rice reached 7.1 million tons, turnover reached 3.46 billion USD, up 13.8% in volume and 5.1% in value; rubber reached 2.15 million tons, turnover reached 3.32 billion USD, up 9.7% in volume and 1.1% in value; cassava and cassava products reached 3.25 million tons, turnover reached 1.41 billion USD, up 13.3% in volume and 19.7% in value; pepper reached 229 thousand tons, turnover reached 971 million USD, down 12.4% in volume but up 3.5% in value; tea reached 146 thousand tons, turnover reached 236 million USD, up 15.2% in volume and 10.6% in value. Two items decreased in export turnover over the same period including vegetables and fruits reached 3.37 billion USD, down 5.1%; cashew nuts reached 520 thousand tons, with turnover reached 3.1 billion USD, down 10.3% in volume and 15.1% in value.
1.2. Overview of markets.Â
In 2022, exports of agricultural and fishery products grew positively in most market areas. Accounting for the highest proportion with 25% of total agricultural exports, Thuy Nam is the Chinese market, reaching about 7.8 billion USD, up 25.3% compared to 2021. Next is the US market with a share of 12.6%, reaching about 3.9 billion USD.
The ASEAN market area accounted for 11.4% and grew strongly by 20.9% compared to 2021. The European Union accounted for 12.2% with a good increase, reaching 16.8%. Other main markets such as Japan and South Korea also achieved growth compared to 2021, in which exports of agricultural and fishery products to Japan increased by 7.3%, to Korea increased by 4.5%.Â
II. Export of Commodity Groups
 1. General export situation
 In 2022, the group of processed industrial goods continued to maintain a stable growth, reaching 319.2 billion USD, accounting for 86% of total export turnover and up 10.1% over the previous year. At the same time, contributing 6/8 items with export turnover of over 10 billion USD of the whole country, including: phone exports reached 58 billion USD, up 0.8% over the previous year; computers, electronic products and components reached 55.5 billion USD, up 9.3%; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached 45.8 billion USD, up 19.4%; textiles and garments reached 37.6 billion USD, up 14.7%; footwear of all kinds reached 23.9 billion USD, up 34.6%; transportation vehicles and spare parts reached 12 billion USD, up 12.9%.
