 - Production: For the whole year 2022, the industry's manufacturing index increased by 19.1% compared to 2021.

The machinery and equipment products with high output in 2022 are: Other DC motors and DC generators reached 390.56 million units; DC motors with a capacity of ≤ 37.5 W reached 373.76 million units; sewing machines for home use reached 4.35 million pieces; Machines and other mechanical equipment with separate functions that have not been classified anywhere reach more than 1.95 million pieces... are mainly produced in provinces and cities: Dong Nai, Da Nang City, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Hanoi City ...

In particular, the output of some machinery and equipment products increased compared to 2021: Machines and other mechanical equipment with separate functions that have not been classified anywhere increased by 53.3%; other power transformers with a capacity of > 16 kVA but a ≤ of 500 kVA increased by 45.78%; other sewing machines, except book sewing machines and household sewing machines, increased by 6.32%; other DC motors and DC generators increased slightly by 0.81%... In contrast, some products with reduced output are: Power transformers using liquid dielectrics with a capacity of no more than 650 KVA reduced by 55.31%; sewing machines for home use decreased by 29.83%; rotary power converters decreased by 22.39%; DC motor with a power of ≤ 37.5 W decreased by 12.2%

- Export:

In 2022, according to Customs data, the total export turnover of machinery and equipment of the whole country reached 45.75 billion USD, up 19.4% compared to 2021; accounting for 12.32% of the total export turnover of goods of the whole country. In particular, the export value of FDI enterprises reached 42.55 billion USD, up 19.38%, accounting for 93% of the country's export turnover.

In terms of export market,

The United States is Vietnam's largest machinery and equipment export market in 2022 with a total turnover of 20.18 billion USD, up 13.3% compared to 2021, accounting for 44.11% of the country's total machinery and equipment export turnover.

Exports of machinery and equipment to the EU market accounted for the second highest proportion (12.3%) reaching nearly 5.63 billion USD, up 38.8% compared to 2021. Next are the markets: China reached 3.7 billion USD, accounting for 8.04%; ASEAN reached 3.3 billion USD, accounting for 7.17%; Japan reached 2.8 billion USD, accounting for 6.04%; Korea reached 2.7 billion USD, accounting for 5.96% ... 

Notably, machinery and equipment exports to some markets in 2022 increased sharply compared to 2021 such as: Angola increased by 1,283.7%; Brunei increased by 230.7%; Colombia increased by 167.1%; Thailand increased by 77.3%...

In terms of export categories,

The group of electrical and electronic machinery and equipment is the most exported in 2022, accounting for more than 73.24% of the total export turnover of machinery and equipment of the country. In particular, leading is the category of electrical equipment used for wireline phones (HS 8517) with a total turnover of 20.76 billion USD, up 39.41% compared to 2021; accounting for 45.37% of the total export value of machinery and equipment of the whole country (up sharply from 38.85% in 2021). Next are the types: Electric transformers, electrostatic converters (HS 8504) reached more than 4.08 billion USD, accounting for 8.93%; electric battery (HS 8507) reached 2.1 billion USD, accounting for 4.58%; electric motors and generators (HS 8501) reached 1.79 billion USD, accounting for 3.92%...

In addition, exports of machinery and equipment of many industry groups increased over the same period, including: Industrial processing machines for food and beverage production increased by 133.5%; footwear machinery increased by 58.7%; machinery in plastic and rubber industry increased by 48.7%; construction machinery and equipment 46.7%; paper and printing machinery increased by 38.2%; machinery in the textile and garment industry increased by 11.7%.

Notably, exports of many types of machinery and equipment in 2022 increased compared to 2021: Time recording equipment (HS 9106) increased by 1,628.9%; liquid crystal device; laser generating equipment; other optical devices and instruments (HS 9013) increased by 543.8%; welding equipment and tools (HS 8468) increased by 449.6%; radar, radio guidance equipment (HS 8526) increased by 331.5%; tobacco processing and packaging machines (HS 8478) increased by 427.5%; radio guidance devices (HS 8526) increased by 331.5%; heating machines and equipment (HS 8419) increased by 213.1%; internal combustion engine (HS 8407) increased by 191.6%...
